Short version: SubCat does not track you, does not use cookies, and does not collect personal data. Your GitHub token never leaves your machine.
SubCat is a macOS desktop application developed by Today We Dream. This privacy policy covers the SubCat website (this site) and not the application itself, which processes data locally on your device.
This website does not use analytics, tracking pixels, advertising networks, or third-party cookies. We do not set any cookies.
Like all web servers, our hosting provider may retain standard server logs that include your IP address, browser user agent, and the pages you requested. These logs exist for security and diagnostic purposes, are not linked to any identity, and are not shared with third parties. They are typically retained for a short period and then deleted.
This site uses IBM Plex Sans and IBM Plex Mono, served directly from our own server. No requests are made to Google Fonts or any other external font service. No third-party scripts or stylesheets are loaded.
The SubCat desktop application operates entirely on your local machine. Your GitHub personal access token is stored encrypted using macOS safeStorage and never transmitted to our servers or any third party. SubCat has no telemetry, no crash reporting to our servers, and no analytics.
When you use SubCat, it communicates directly with the GitHub API on your behalf, using your token. Please refer to GitHub's Privacy Statement for how GitHub handles that data.
SubCat releases are hosted on GitHub Releases. When you download the application, GitHub processes your request. Their privacy policy applies to that interaction.
If you are located in the European Economic Area, you have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), including the right to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you.
Because we do not collect or store personal data beyond transient server logs (which contain no account or identity information), there is generally nothing to access, correct, or delete. If you have questions, contact us at the address below.
